Info
Parviz
Parviz's self-titled debut album is slated for 2026, evoking the spirit of Iran's pre-revolutionary 70s music scene. Lead single Azadeh, a female given name meaning free spirit and independence, nods to the Woman Life Freedom movement and the recent mass uprisings in Iran, with artwork by Rana Fadavi. Its follow-up Sappho's Fragments has aired on BBC Radio 6 and totalled more than half a million streams since its release.
Flowery, kaleidoscopic and contemplative, it is like an old taping of Iran's music show Rangarang brought back to life, with added DIY aesthetics and an indie flair. Psychedelic guitars and flowing detuned synths infuse each track with emotion and nostalgia, resulting in a debut that is both rooted in Persian culture and distinctly modern.
After a UK tour earlier this year, Parviz will be back for the second leg of his Khorshid Khanoom Tour, and will play at Rough Trade Liverpool on 19 November 2026.
Wiffeney
Wiffeney is the brainchild of two best friends: Grammy-nominated drummer and producer Jai D (Jay Z, Tyler The Creator, Haelos) and animator Steph Hope (FX Networks, Haruomi Hosono). The band’s sound is soulful vocals over infectious rhythms, sprawling guitars and gloopy synths, along with their psychedelic visuals.
