The Pineapple Thief returns to Warsaw with the Far and Wide tour, and on April 7, 2027 they will play a Palladium set, where their prog-rock tension meets a more alternative sensibility. Bruce Soord's band has for years built a sound on melodic guitars, melancholic moods, and compositions that work with dynamics: calm passages slowly intensify the emotions, and then they enter into a heavier, rhythmically dense flight.
Live, it's not a display of technique for technique's sake, but a precisely guided narrative in which a lot happens in the details: tempo changes, swelling refrains, space in the arrangements. In material from recent years, especially since Gavin Harrison left a strong mark on the lineup, the drums and pulse have become as important as the melodies. If you like prog, but in a version more emotional than pompous, this evening in Warsaw will be exactly in that vein.
