Warhaus, the project led by Belgian Maarten Devoldere (also in Balthazar), arrives in Barcelona to present The Donkey on April 20, 2027 at Sala Razzmatazz. If until now Warhaus’ name was associated with nocturnal and elegant pop, with that deep voice at the forefront and sober arrangements, this new chapter dares to go more for the body: hypnotic lyrics, a rawer performance and pulses that hearken to tribal rhythms, with nods to South African gqom and grime-textured grooves.
In live performance, Warhaus typically expands into a full-band setup, maintaining that tension between a slow ballad and discreet groove that has defined his universe since his earliest steps. The concert promises to move between intimacy and rhythmic drive, with that cinematic and melancholic edge that runs through his discography, from We Fucked a Flame Into Being and Warhaus to Ha Ha Heartbreak and Karaoke Moon.
