Love In a Vicious Way, the debut album from Toronto’s Mother Tongues, is a cyber-psych opus that lurks between the cerebral and feral. At moments, precious and serene; in a blink, snarling, teeth razor-sharp. Its 10 songs about love, longing, desire, and identity are charged with a sincerity and teenage sentimentalism that captures a time when everything was crucial and felt tenfold. Love In a Vicious Way sees the band carving out a space for themselves: they are world-building. Like some rare bird mimicking the machines at the edge of the forest, the album echoes the beauty, darkness, and weight of life in these changing times. “It’s an exploration of the darker ways we love, the parts with teeth,” says guitarist and vocalist Lukas Cheung, explaining the record’s title. “It possesses you, it’s a pit you fall into. Love overtakes you, this record is about surrendering to that feeling.”

Bibi Club is the musical project of Adèle Trottier-Rivard on vocals and keyboard, and Nicolas Basque on guitar. They explore the liminal spectrum between the here and beyond, pointing to love, nature, and community as the unifying purpose. The duo now reveal themselves through avant-pop and electronic body music with elements of dark wave and neofolk, simultaneously borrowing from baroque sounds with harpsichords, trumpets, and ritual chants to be learned by heart. The pair named themselves Bibi Club for the discotheque in their living room, where their “bibis”, loved ones, come to dance.

Multi-dimensional music festival Project Nowhere returns for a fourth year to Toronto’s west end from 1 to 3 October 2026. The first wave of artists includes underground legends, up-and-coming trailblazers, and emerging talent from Toronto and beyond.

Established in 2023, Project Nowhere is a music festival featuring a lineup of local and international artists across multiple venues in Toronto's Little Portugal neighbourhood. The team behind Project Nowhere is an artist-run collective, intent on cultivating and supporting the city's music community with a strong DIY ethos.
