Since breaking out in 2021, ten56. have been shaping a brand of modern metal built for impact: slowed-down deathcore weight, nu-metal grit and industrial textures, all driven by massive guitars and a vocal approach that jumps from pure screams to near-rap phrasing and spoken lines. Fronted by Aaron Matts (formerly of Betraying The Martyrs), the French band keeps things tense and urban, with electronic layers and samples that add to the dark, immersive feel as much as the live punch.
After making a mark with their debut album Downer, ten56. returned this year with IO, pushing their fractured structures and heavy grooves even further. They’ve also been busy on the road alongside acts like While She Sleeps, Landmvrks and Northlane, taking their cathartic chaos across the USA, Japan and Australia.
