Info
On Saturday 10 October 2026 in Bristol, Japanese trio Boris return to Strange Brew for a matinee set built around Flood, one of their most singular records. First released around 2000, Flood isn’t a collection of songs but a single piece split into four movements, designed to unfold slowly. Expect long arcs of drone and minimal repetition, then sudden surges of weight: huge riffs, feedback, and those shifts in volume Boris have made their signature. With Atsuo, Wata and Takeshi, nothing stays in one lane for long, but the point here is immersion rather than fireworks: a set that breathes, drifts, and hits hard when it needs to.
Opening the show, Planning for Burial is the solo project of Thom Wasluck, operating in that foggy space between shoegaze, post-metal, ambient and gothic rock. He builds slow, saturated tracks where melody fights through distortion, with drone textures and doom-leaning heaviness. A perfect lead-in for Flood: same patience, same taste for density, different emotional temperature.
