Cryptopsy returns to the stage on August 29, 2026 at Rum Runners in London, Ontario. Born in Montreal's underground scene at the end of the 1980s, the band quickly carved out a distinct place in brutal death metal, with an approach as fast as it is technical, consisting of dissonant riffs, labyrinthine structures, and rhythmic breaks that leave no room to breathe.
Since the landmark beginnings of Blasphemy Made Flesh and the lasting impact of None So Vile, Cryptopsy has continuously pushed the envelope of complexity without relinquishing sonic violence. The follow-up confirmed this taste for twisted architecture and surgical precision, notably driven by dense drum work and a quartet dynamic accustomed to venues and festivals dedicated to the genre. After some more modern detours toward the end of the 2000s, the band refocused on tight technical death metal, up to As Gomorrah Burns. On stage, it all comes down to endurance, attention to detail, and instinct.
