Info
On November 28, 2026, Faouzia returns to her adopted home in Winnipeg for a live performance conceived as a true face-to-face with the voice, carried this time by the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. Born in Casablanca and raised in Manitoba, the singer and songwriter emerged with a bold, upfront pop sound, woven with R&B, synth-pop and more acoustic moments, where everything hinges on interpretation. On stage, her clear melodies and often cinematic arrangements also allow Arabic inflections to filter through, in English as well as in Arabic or French, in writing that speaks of momentum, vulnerability and taking risks. From her early singles to Film Noir (2025), her repertoire has broadened through notable collaborations, without ever losing that taste for taut choruses and emotional crescendos.
Founded in 1947, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra brings to this concert its double culture: the great repertoire and contemporary creation, nourished notably by its New Music Festival. Used to moving from the classical stage to cross-disciplinary projects, the orchestra here puts its palette at the service of Faouzia's songs, balancing collective power with nuanced precision, in an orchestral reinterpretation that scales up without losing the intimate. The event takes place at the Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg.
