Faouzia
Born in Casablanca and raised in Manitoba, between Notre‑Dame‑de‑Lourdes and Carman, Faouzia early on developed a pop songwriting approach centered on the voice, at the intersection of pop, R&B, synth‑pop and a more stripped‑back acoustic vein. As a teenager she began posting covers online, and in the mid‑2010s she was noticed through several Canadian and international competitions and then by her first singles, including “Knock on My Door” (2015) and “My Heart’s Grave” (2017). Her trajectory broadened between the North American pop scene and more international collaborations, notably with David Guetta on “Battle,” Kelly Clarkson for a Moroccan Arabic version of “I Dare You,” John Legend on “Minefields,” and Martin Solveig on “Now or Never.” Faouzia’s style rests on direct pop melodies, often tense or cinematic arrangements, and a performance that at times incorporates Arabic inflections, in English, Arabic or French. After the EP Stripped (2020) and the EP Citizens (2022), she continued releasing singles before issuing the album Film Noir in 2025.
