Info

The Dead South brings its sharp blend of bluegrass, folk and Americana to Vicar Street in Dublin on March 14, 2027. Formed in 2012 in Regina, Saskatchewan, the Canadian quartet has built its identity on tight vocal harmonies, fast, driving rhythms and that raw, slightly punk energy that shakes up traditional roots music without betraying it. With Nate Hilts, Scott Pringle, Colton Crawford and Danny Kenyon trading banjo, mandolin, guitar and cello lines, their songs move between dark humor and rural nostalgia, always with a sense of tension and momentum.

Propelled by the viral hit In Hell I’ll Be in Good Company, they’ve kept evolving across albums like Good Company, Illusion & Doubt, Sugar & Joy and Chains & Stakes, refining a sound that’s both classic and crooked. On stage, it’s direct and physical: strings snapping into sync, voices locked together, and a repertoire built to keep the room moving.
