Born in Henderson, near Las Vegas, Flowers has built a songwriting voice nourished by the American West, with songs that tell ordinary lives over crisp, direct melodies. Co-founder of The Killers in 2001, he established a style in which pop polish meets post-punk energy and overt references to the 1980s, with an increasingly prominent heartland rock vein.
In his solo work, he pushes this approach even further, as on Flamingo (2010) and The Desired Effect (2015)—two records where melodic efficiency meets warm, synthetic production. This date promises to be a good meeting point between his solo material and the DNA of his band, with a new album, Thrasher, announced for 2026.
