La Luciole / Eureka presents: The Last Internationale
Protest rock / live fury / incendiary blues-punk
Attention heavy, visceral rock fans: prepare for a sonic and human explosion. Straight from New York, the duo The Last Internationale (often billed as TLI) is set to perform at La Luciole. Renowned for its live performances of rare intensity and uncompromising activism, the band will present its punchy tracks. A concert in the form of a hymn to resistance, crafted to move minds and shake the walls.
What is their story?
Founded by singer Delila Paz and guitarist Edgey Pires, The Last Internationale has built a reputation on the rock scene by staying true to its values of struggle and social justice. Their debut album, 'We Will Reign' (2014), was produced by Brendan O’Brien with Brad Wilk, Rage Against the Machine's drummer, at their side. Their successor, 'Soul On Fire' (2019), was helmed by Tom Morello.
A regular on large stages as the opening act for Kiss, Hollywood Vampires, or on the stages of Hellfest and Lollapalooza, the band has never lost its soul or its urgency. In the studio as on stage, TLI continues to draw inspiration from the roots of protest rock while infusing it with modern production.
What atmosphere should you expect on stage?
The Last Internationale's concert is a physical and theatrical experience, where legitimate anger transforms into a collective communion. On stage, the duo maintains constant tension and refuses even a moment of respite.
Their live is an adrenaline rush, built around:
- Delila Paz's visceral, inhabited voice, capable of shifting from poignant blues sweetness to powerful rock roars,
- Edgey Pires's heavy, explosive guitars, delivering a massive sound that bridges the fury of Rage Against the Machine and the groove of Led Zeppelin,
- Recent, outspoken tracks like 'Animals', a dark narrative denouncing injustice, or their energetic cover of the anthem 'People, Let's Stop the War',
- A generous stage presence and humanitarian spirit, where the artist does not hesitate to pick up an acoustic guitar or harmonica to bridge the distance with the audience.
The venue's word: we are happy to welcome The Last Internationale. What touches us about them, beyond their technical virtuosity, is their humanitarian commitment. Their music doesn't cheat: it is a rallying cry, a hand extended, and a celebration of solidarity. Whether you are a devotee of big riffs or simply curious to experience a moment of authentic, heartfelt rock, this show promises to be a memorable moment of our season. A cathartic, brotherly release.
