Nick Hakim

Nick Hakim brings his hazy blend of neo-soul, psychedelic soul and dreamy R&B to the Hollywood Theatre in Vancouver on October 2, 2026. Born in Washington, D.C. and based in New York, he shaped his sound from church choir roots to studies at Berklee, then self-released the EPs Where Will We Go (Parts I & II) before unveiling Green Twins in 2017 and Will This Make Me Good in 2020. Since then, he’s pushed toward more exploratory textures and collage-like production, from the Roy Nathanson and Onyx Collective project Small Things to Cometa in 2022, a turn that feels more airy and organic without losing his intimate pull.

On stage, these songs settle into patient grooves, grainy keys and tape-worn guitars, leaving room for improvisation and quiet shifts of dynamics. His collaborations with Terence Nance, Erykah Badu, Lil Yachty and Adrianne Lenker map out the edges he likes to blur between jazz, R&B and indie songwriting; live, it folds into a band sound that breathes. Expect a set that moves across his catalog and teases where he’s heading next, with guests joining for the ride.
