Info
Electric Wizard return to the UK with a dose of slow-burn heaviness that has defined their cult status for three decades. Formed in Dorset around guitarist and singer Jus Oborn and anchored since the mid-2000s by guitarist Liz Buckingham, the band carves out a doom metal that drifts between stoner haze, sludge grit and shadowy psychedelia. On 16 September 2026 at The Prospect Building, Bristol, expect low-tuned guitars, thick riffs stretched to the breaking point and vocals sinking into the mix, all wrapped in an atmosphere steeped in occult imagery and horror-cinema echoes.
The set can dive deep into their cornerstone era — Electric Wizard, Come My Fanatics…, Dopethrone — while drawing from later chapters like We Live, Witchcult Today, Black Masses, Time to Die and Wizard Bloody Wizard. Live, the quartet works in long forms: repetition that lulls and crushes, feedback that lingers, grooves that crawl but never stall. It’s a show built on texture and saturation rather than speed, where every chord lands like a slow tide. Bristol gets the band in their element, amps humming, dynamics simmering, and that unmistakable, tar-thick sound holding the room in its grip at The Prospect Building.
