Getdown Services

Getdown Services is the Bristol duo of Ben Sadler and Josh Law. On 5 December 2026 at Foundry, Western Bank, Sheffield, they bring a hybrid of post-punk pulse, indie rock edge and dancefloor swing. Built on insistent basslines, dry drum machines and lean guitar or synth lines, their tracks carry a 70s-infused, 80s-tinged groove with a quiet nod to classic rock. The vocals sit in a spoken-sung register, sometimes close to spoken word, giving space to lyrics that observe everyday routines, social codes and urban tics with a cool distance. Live, the pair lean on repetition and sharp dynamic breaks, turning simple structures into something that shifts between club mindset and band energy. The set favours momentum over ornament, keeping focus on pattern, rhythm and the way a hook loops until it clicks. At Foundry, machines and strings line up with the same aim: a tight, propulsive sound that holds the room and keeps the groove front and centre.
