Dagny

Norwegian singer and songwriter Dagny plays Manchester Academy in Manchester on February 3, 2027. Raised in Tromsø in a musical family, she first explored acoustic and folk-pop before steering her project toward a more direct, melodic and rhythmic pop where indie pop, dance-pop, synth-pop, electropop and a touch of disco meet.

Her breakthrough came in 2015 with Backbeat, which quickly put her on European stages and showcases like Eurosonic, by:Larm and The Great Escape. After the Ultraviolet EP in 2016, she released a run of standout singles including Wearing Nothing and Love You Like That, the latter forming the basis of Katy Perry’s Never Really Over, with Dagny credited as a writer. She followed with the albums Strangers / Lovers in 2020 and Elle in 2024, refining a bright pop sound shot through with a clear streak of melancholy.

Along the way, Dagny has collaborated with Seeb, Steve Aoki, Kygo and Astrid S, while keeping a steady live presence at festivals such as Øyafestivalen, Bergenfest and Mighty Hoopla. On stage, her sets thread tight hooks, synth-laced arrangements and crisp beats with straightforward melodies and honest songwriting.
