GIRLI

GIRLI brings her candid, genre-blending pop to Strange Brew in Bristol on 28 October 2026. Over the past few years, the London musician has honed a sound that mixes electronic pop, indie edges and a flash of punk. Her lyrics tackle identity, relationships, mental health, gender and sexuality in a direct, often autobiographical register. The breakout single More Than A Friend, embraced as a queer anthem, pushed her to a wider audience with tens of millions of streams, while earlier releases laid the groundwork: the 2019 debut Odd One Out, the Damsel in Distress EP, then Matriarchy in 2024, which steered her toward a more melodic but still sharp pop.

On stage, she trades between spoken-word cadences and hooky refrains, riding synth-driven beats and raw, conversational vocals. The set digs into the tension between abrasive textures and clean melodies, with new tracks sitting next to crowd favourites. A dedicated LGBTQ+ community has formed around her music; live, that connection runs through the room, turning personal stories into a collective chorus without smoothing out the edges that made her stand out in the first place.
