The Bridge City Sinners land at Manchester Academy, Manchester, on 3 October 2026. From Portland, Oregon, they braid traditional folk roots with punk bite, in an all-acoustic setup powered by banjo, fiddle, upright bass and the occasional brass. Led by singer Libby Lux, the group calls its dark-tinged blend death folk, where old-time tunes, bluegrass and street-jazz accents cross paths. On record and on stage, they keep a direct line to the audience, close to the spirit of roaming brass bands while staying anchored in a contemporary folk sound shaped by punk and alternative scenes. Their songs lean on narrative writing, twisting religious imagery, sketching outcasts and macabre tableaux with a steady thread of black humor. A path traced across a self-titled debut (2016), Here’s to the Devil (2019), Unholy Hymns (2021) and In the Age of Doubt (2023).
