Amigo the Devil
Under the name Amigo the Devil, Danny Kiranos, born in Miami in 1987, has shaped a project that blends gothic country, indie folk and dark folk after several relocations across the United States, before settling in San Francisco. Guitar, banjo and vocals carry songs marked by black humor, crime tales, death and other dark themes, in a songwriting style that mixes American folk, country, rock and a sensibility drawn from metal culture. Amigo the Devil first made his mark on stage as a solo performer, building his audience through live shows and appearing both on folk circuits and on rock and alternative bills. After the EPs Manimals (2010), Diggers (2013) and Decompositions (2015), Amigo compiled that early cycle on Volume 1 (2015), then released the albums Everything Is Fine (2018), Born Against (2021) and Yours Until The War Is Over (2024). His trajectory has taken him to stages and festivals such as Aftershock, Riot Fest and 2000trees, reflecting a career at the crossroads of several audiences and aesthetics.
