Info
On 26 July 2026 at Somerset House in London, Benjamin Clementine brings the singular craft he has built between Edmonton and Paris. A self-taught Londoner of Ghanaian heritage, he composes at the piano and writes pieces that slide between sung lines, spoken poetry and freer melodic contours, moving from stripped-back intimacy to more theatrical arrangements. His repertoire spans the EPs Cornerstone and Glorious You through the albums At Least for Now, I Tell a Fly and And I Have Been, mapping a path that began with years playing in the Paris metro, bars and hotels around Place de Clichy and Montmartre.
On stage, Clementine’s tenor voice sits at the center, framed by harmonies that carry echoes of chanson, soul, experimental pop and a clear affection for French classical music. The evening at Somerset House promises a piano-led journey across these influences, with songs shaped by careful phrasing and a keen sense of narrative. Along the way, nods to collaborations with Charles Aznavour or Gorillaz underline an artist who thrives on crossings and conversation.
