Info
Loose Ends brings its London-born blend of UK soul, R&B and post-disco back to the stage on 13 June 2026 at Jazz Cafe, London. Formed in 1980 around Carl McIntosh, Jane Eugene and Steve Nichol, the group shaped the sound of the mid-80s with supple grooves, strong melodies and a production style that spoke to both sides of the Atlantic. Their early run – from A Little Spice and So Where Are You? to Zagora – delivered tracks like Hangin’ on a String (Contemplating), Magic Touch and Slow Down, titles that placed the band between the UK soul scene and the US R&B circuit. Hangin’ on a String also made history as the first Billboard R&B No. 1 by an Afro‑British group.
Today, led by Carl McIntosh, Loose Ends keeps that signature balance of rhythm and songcraft alive, revisiting key moments from the catalogue while opening space for the later chapters of the project. Expect a set grounded in their classic songwriting and in the interplay between basslines, keys and voices that defined their sound from the start.
