Del Amitri bring Past to Present – Four Decades of Their Greatest Music to Usher Hall, Edinburgh, on 1 December 2026. Formed in Glasgow in 1980 around singer-bassist Justin Currie and guitarist Iain Harvie, the band has shaped a blend of pop rock, jangle guitars and folk-tinged tones. This set traces a line from the early self-titled debut through Waking Hours and Change Everything, into the mid-90s with Twisted and Some Other Sucker’s Parade, and on to their 2021 return, Fatal Mistakes. The night moves between concise hooks and dry, clear-eyed lyrics, with songs like Nothing Ever Happens, Kiss This Thing Goodbye, Always the Last to Know and Roll to Me alongside later material cut from the same cloth. With Andy Alston’s keys in the mix and the current rhythm section keeping it grounded, Del Amitri revisit four decades of writing and the sound that carried them across British and North American stages, linking bright guitar lines with steady, uncluttered grooves.
