The Orb and Ozric Tentacles share the stage in Bournemouth on 26 November 2026 at O2 Academy Bournemouth. Led since the early 90s by Alex Paterson, The Orb shaped a strand of ambient house built from spacious textures, unhurried rhythms and dub-leaning pulses, stitched with samples and playful collage. From The Orb’s Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld to U.F.Orb, the project has refined long-form pieces that drift and morph rather than run straight. On stage, that language opens up: visuals, live processing and improvisation turn studio ideas into an open-ended set.
Ozric Tentacles grew out of the Stonehenge free-festival scene and has stayed largely instrumental. Guided by guitarist-composer Ed Wynne, the band blends psychedelic and space rock with prog curves, jazz-fusion accents, ambient haze and a taste for dub grooves. Sinuous guitars, synth-forward motifs and agile, sometimes knotty rhythms drive suites that stretch and build, from the cassette-era beginnings through Erpland and Jurassic Shift to the recent Lotus Unfolding. Live, electronic textures drawn from kindred projects keep the sound spacious and agile, pushing the jams outward without losing the pulse.
