Info

Example brings his hybrid of UK rap, hip-house and catchy electronic pop to Rock City, Nottingham on 22 May 2026. Born Elliot Gleave in West London, he built a style where spoken, sharply phrased verses switch into melodic choruses over beats that nod to eurodance and big-room EDM — club-minded but still rooted in hip-hop.

From early DIY singles on All The Chats and a first album, What We Made (2007), his sound shifted toward the dancefloor with Won’t Go Quietly (2010), then Playing in the Shadows (2011) and The Evolution of Man (2012). Along the way he’s worked with names like Sub Focus and Nero, and teamed up with Pet Shop Boys on Thursday. The run continued with Live Life Living (2014), the mixtape-shaped Bangers & Ballads (2018), the more rap-focused Some Nights Last for Days (2020) and We May Grow Old But We Never Grow Up (2022).

On stage, this catalogue turns into a direct, physical set: hard-spoken bars, big sing-along hooks, and productions that swing between grime-tinged grit and festival-scale electronics. A show that maps the path from his early rap roots to his club-facing present without losing the thread.
