Info

Imelda May brings Raised on Songs & Stories to Vicar Street in Dublin on June 10, 2026. Born and raised in the Liberties, the Irish vocalist has built a singular path at the crossroads of rockabilly, swing, rhythm and blues, jazz, soul and folk. From the retro-charged Love Tattoo and Mayhem to the rawer Tribal, her early albums carried a rock’n’roll pulse fed by blues and melody. With Life Love Flesh Blood, produced by T Bone Burnett, she shifted toward a more stripped-back folk and soft rock approach, before opening a spoken word chapter with Slip of the Tongue and widening the palette again on 11 Past the Hour, alongside guests like Noel Gallagher and Ronnie Wood.

On stage, May threads that journey into a set where songs and stories sit side by side. Her years alongside Jools Holland and standout moments with Jeff Beck have honed a delivery that moves easily from up-tempo swagger to intimate confession. Raised on Songs & Stories leans into her roots and influences, drawing a line from Dublin streets to international stages, blending vintage swing and R&B grit with newer folk shades and spoken textures. A night shaped by voice, craft and lived experience, back on home ground at Vicar Street.
