MISSIO from Austin, Texas, will play EXIL in Zurich on 26 August 2026. The duo formed in 2014 around Matthew Brue (vocals, songwriting, production) and David Butler (production, co‑songwriting) and moves between alternative‑electronic, dark‑tinged pop‑rock and atmospheric hip‑hop. Punchy beats, expansive, atmospheric melodies and a voice at the forefront define their sound; thematically their lyrics revolve around isolation, addiction and mental health.

After early demos and an initial SXSW appearance, MISSIO released the EP I Don’t Even Care About You in 2016, followed by the albums Loner (2017), The Darker the Weather // The Better the Man (2019), Can You Feel the Sun (2020), VILLAIN (2022) and I Am Cinco (2024). These were accompanied by the Skeletons EP series and several short releases in 2023 that continued a more fragmented, introspective songwriting direction. Before the duo phase, Brue worked with Said the Sky; in 2024 KING was released with Kent Osborne for Fortnite.

On stage, MISSIO concentrate their mix of rhythmic drive and melancholic melody into a direct, focused set.
