Info
On October 13, 2026, at the Jack Jack Hall in Bron, Monolord deployed its Göteborg doom/stoner: slow tempos, heavily saturated riffs, thick bass, and clear singing that soars above the mass. From Empress Rising and Vænir through Rust, No Comfort and Your Time to Shine, the trio has honed a songwriting approach that relies on repetition, tension and accessible melodies. On stage, this manifests as hypnotic grooves, increases in density and a sonic texture that is hazy yet precise—made for immersion. A new album is slated for 2026, produced by Sylvia Massy for Relapse Records; this live set offers a preview of that next phase while revisiting the band’s key tracks.
Dopelord, based in Warsaw, operates in a doom idiom steeped in stoner, slow sludge and dark psychedelia. The quartet builds its songs on thick riffs and stretched-out pulses, with vocal layers becoming more prominent across records. From Magick Rites to Black Arts, Riff Worship & Weed Cult, then Children of the Haze, Sign of the Devil and Songs for Satan, the songwriting has grown clearer without losing its gritty edge. Live, the group creates sustained tension, cultivates repetition and heaviness, in an openly assumed lineage with Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Sleep and Electric Wizard.
