Cassia

On 14 November 2026 Cassia will play at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. The trio from Macclesfield, in northwest England, have been developing their own blend of indie pop and pop rock since the late 2010s, drawing on African and tropical rhythms. Bright guitars, smooth percussion and melodies with a melancholic undertone form the core, with gentle vocals lending the whole a more introspective hue.

After a string of singles and EPs, Replica was released in 2019, followed by Why You Lacking Energy? in 2022. The songs show increasingly assured songwriting while retaining the direct, light groove of their early work. Many tracks move over danceable patterns that never become heavy-handed, allowing Cassia to maintain a distinctive sound without effects or excess.

On tour across the UK and Europe their sound has gradually become richer and more detailed. Travel and life on the road recur both in the themes and in the way the trio blends warmth into the rhythms with a British pop sensibility. In Amsterdam this comes together in a set that draws on their two albums and recent material, leaving room for subtle dynamics, fresh hooks and that characteristic balance between buoyancy and reflection.
