Info
Malibu is a French musician whose artistic practice leans toward a form of meditation; allegorical in her approach, her compositions are less rooted in a traditional listening experience, existing as fragments of a vast imagination, albeit very intimate. Bits of drone, neoclassical, dance and pop music are woven together — between synthesizer, cello, ethereal or spoken voice, choirs and basses — creating new contexts and stories. Malibu will perform on 19 April 2026 at 16:30 at the Botanique.
In parallel, the live experience of Malibu’s music is an integral part of her artistic practice, presenting a blend of pieces that immerses the audience in a contemplative state. This has led her to play festivals such as Berlin Atonal, Club 2 Club and Pitchfork, as well as to open for Oklou and Julianna Barwick on tour.
A film-inspired artist, she regularly collaborates with directors Caroline Poggi and Jonathan Vinel, lending her voice to Bébé Colère and Comment ça va?, and also composes the score for the film La Fille qui explose. As a logical continuation of her EPs One Life (2019) and Palaces of Pity (2022), her debut album Vanities will be released on 3 October 2025 on the Swedish label Year0001.
