On 1 August 2026 at the Théâtre de la Mer in Sète, the bill is set for a soul evening led by two complementary stages. From the United Kingdom, Omar — a leading figure of 1990s English soul — unfolds his smooth blend of soul, R&B and jazz-funk that helped lay the groundwork for UK neo-soul. First noticed with There’s Nothing Like This, he has since refined a songwriting approach built around basslines, warm keyboards and precise harmonies. Live, he favors the full band and the dynamics of ensemble playing, alternating mid‑tempo grooves and ballads without losing sight of a soul firmly rooted in the present.
Opposite him, Michelle David & The True-Tones bring Michelle David’s American voice together with a core of Dutch musicians. The group keeps gospel as its foundation, colouring it with funk, northern soul and sixties‑seventies rhythm and blues. A compact rhythm section, with guitars and keyboards geared toward efficiency, foregrounds interaction and collective interplay.
