Kamaal Williams returns to Paris with The Check Mate Tour 2026. A London keyboardist and producer, also known as Henry Wu, he builds a natural bridge between contemporary jazz, broken beat and UK house. From the Yussef Kamaal project to his solo work, he makes his Rhodes and synths resonate over taut grooves, round basslines and syncopated rhythms.
On stage his playing is direct and agile: metronomic drum patterns, spiraling improvisations, analog pads that warm the atmosphere, and more soulful breaths when space is needed. The live show moves between tightly focused themes and electronic excursions, with nods to London bruk, hip‑hop and acid jazz, without losing the club energy that runs through his productions.
