Mansur Brown
Based in Brixton in south London, Mansur Brown has been developing since the mid‑2010s an instrumental music that sits at the crossroads of contemporary jazz, fusion, abstract hip‑hop and subtle electronic textures. A guitarist, producer and multi‑instrumentalist, he operates within the London scene’s ecosystem while maintaining a highly personal voice, driven by supple guitar lines, fragmented rhythms and often meditative atmospheres. His debut album, Shiroi, was released in 2018 and laid the foundation for a language where improvisation meets concise formats and colours drawn from broken beat, ambient and British urban music. Mansur Brown continued this work with Heiwa in 2021, his first project released on his own label Amai Records, followed by the EP NAQI in 2022. Onstage as in the studio, he moves between solo configurations and collective contexts, with an approach that links jazz, electronics and instrumental composition without confining itself to a single genre.
