On April 22, 2027, at the Palais Nikaïa in Nice, Dany Boon returns to the stage with a new one-man show, Clowning Is Not a Profession. After seven years away from performing, the comedian picks up where it all began for him: a microphone, everyday stories and a self-deprecating humour that does the job. We find his characters with their shaky lives, his shifts of accent, his digressions about family, work, small modern anxieties and those details that turn an ordinary situation into something genuinely comical. Between written sketches and looser moments, he plays with rhythm, listens to the audience and relies on the observational sense that has shaped his signature since the start. Not a display of virtuosity so much as a return to basics, up close, with the mix of sincerity and mischief that runs through his career as a comedian and actor.
