Info
Atlanta duo Lowertown — singer-songwriter Olivia Osby and multi-instrumentalist Avsha Weinberg — lands at The 27 Club in Ottawa on May 4, 2026, with special guests. Formed in high school and first noticed for intimate, home-recorded tracks, they’ve since shifted from hazy bedroom pop toward a leaner indie rock that brushes up against post-punk. Signed to Dirty Hit, they sharpened that turn with the EP The Gaping Mouth in 2021, then pushed it further on the 2022 album I Love to Lie. Osby’s writing leans into candid, close-to-the-bone themes — anxiety, relationships, urban routines — while Weinberg sculpts the contrasts: rough edges meeting cleaner melodic lines, spoken fragments sliding into hooks, and quiet passages tipping into heavier sections.
On stage, Lowertown usually widen the lineup to give their songs more bite without losing the raw, hand-made feel of the recordings. The set tends to move between hushed sketches and driving guitars, clipped rhythms and minimal acoustic breaks, letting tension rise and fall rather than settling in one mood. It’s a live version that brings their studio duality into focus: lo-fi intimacy on one side, sharper energy on the other. Lowertown with special guests at The 27 Club, Ottawa, May 4, 2026.
