On 13 March 2026 at the Pumpwerk Cultural Center in Wilhelmshaven: Pe Werner. Born in Heidelberg, the singer and songwriter has moved since the early ’90s between pop, chanson, cabaret and jazz, placing the lyrics at the center. With albums such as “Weiblich, ledig, jung sucht…” (1990) and “Kribbeln im Bauch” (1991) she has sharpened her style: everyday observations, a narrative perspective and subtle wordplay. Live, Werner relies on a clear voice, precise phrasing and arrangements that leave space — sometimes as a trio, sometimes with a jazz band, occasionally in an orchestral setting. In Wilhelmshaven she brings songs from different phases of her repertoire: intimate ballads, narrative pieces and lighter numbers, always text-driven and melodically grounded. An evening that shows how her stories, harmonies and rhythms work without effects and hit exactly where language and music come together.
