On April 22, 2027 at La Cigale in Paris, Nouvelle Vague presents A Date With Depeche Mode, a tribute that reconfigures the British band’s repertoire in its own way. For their seventh album, the Parisian collective devotes, for the first time, an entire record to a single artist: thirteen Depeche Mode songs reworked with new voices, marked by the bossa-pop flair and the pared-down arrangements that define the project.
Recorded in Rio with Brazilian musicians, the project establishes a dialogue between Brazil’s rhythmic soul and Depeche Mode’s synthetic universe. On stage, Nouvelle Vague unfolds these versions in a flexible lineup: female voices to the fore, acoustic guitars, percussion and keyboards sketching new contours around familiar melodies without erasing their original tension. A set where cold wave meets bossa, under Nouvelle Vague’s unmistakable touch.
