On 11 July 2026 at Royal Festival Hall, London, British composer and arranger Fiona Brice revisits David Bowie’s The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, expanding the album with new orchestrations and a cast of guest vocalists. Released in 1972, Bowie’s concept record follows Ziggy, an androgynous extraterrestrial rock star sent to Earth ahead of an impending apocalypse; this concert traces that narrative through a live set built around the album’s key songs.
Classically trained and a multi-instrumentalist, Brice leads the ensemble through her arrangements for strings, keys and band, shaping the material for a contemporary stage without losing its glam edge. The microphone is shared by a line-up including art-pop singer David McAlmont, Placebo’s Brian Molko, interpreter Camille O’Sullivan, electroclash artist Peaches, and Mercury Prize-nominated songwriter Nadine Shah. Each brings a distinct tone and phrasing to Bowie’s writing, moving from swaggering riffs to more intimate ballads, while Brice’s scoring connects the rawness of the originals with a broader orchestral palette.
