The Three Degrees

The Three Degrees bring their classic Philadelphia soul and disco repertoire to Soul Mama Stratford in London on 9 September 2026. Since the early 60s, the trio has built a signature sound around close harmonies and lush arrangements, moving from the Philadelphia International era into late-70s dancefloor cuts.

Under the guidance of Gamble & Huff, they recorded with MFSB and helped define TSOP, The Sound of Philadelphia. Global hits like When Will I See You Again, Dirty Ol’ Man and Take Good Care of Yourself carried them across charts and stages, while a much-noted link to the then HRH Prince Charles in the 1970s anchored their place in UK pop culture.

On stage today, Helen Scott, Valerie Holiday and Freddie Pool revisit the catalogue with arrangements that span tender ballads and up-tempo numbers. The set traces their journey from soul to disco, balancing the songs everyone knows with selections that reflect how the group has evolved across the decades.
