Info

Caifanes arrives in Madrid on April 27, 2026, to take the stage at Sala But with their blend of alternative rock, new wave and post‑punk echoes infused with Mexican imagery. Formed in Mexico City in the late 1980s, the group coalesced around Saúl Hernández (vocals, guitar) and Alfonso André (drums), and found its identity amid somber guitars, edgy keyboards and Spanish-language songwriting that looks both to the streets and to the mystical. From their self-titled debut (1988) to El diablito (1990), their sound opened contrasts between electric drive and more psychedelic passages; with El silencio (1992) they incorporated rhythms from Mexican tradition into straightforward melodies, and on El nervio del volcán (1994) they intensified their rock edge without losing melodic pulse. After a prolonged hiatus, the core of Hernández and André returned to the stage in the 2010s and has kept the repertoire alive on tours across the Americas. In Madrid, the band presents a set that traces this trajectory, with sharp arrangements and a live show that bridges past and present.
