Catching Cairo

Born and raised in North London, Catching Cairo has since the early 2010s developed a trajectory at the crossroads of drum and bass, jungle, alt-R&B, reggae and a British electronic pop culture marked by the sound system. Initially active under the name Tiffani Juno, she appeared on releases published notably by Rinse, Maison Kitsuné, MTA Records, and Digital Soundboy, before gradually establishing a vocally distinctive writing, at once direct, melodic, and rooted in the textures of the dancefloor. Catching Cairo is primarily part of the UK bass and drum and bass scene through a series of collaborations with Jakwob, Kasra, Hybrid Minds, London Elektricity, BCee, Sustance and Mungo’s Hi Fi. Her name remains associated with several tracks circulating durably on the drum and bass scene, including 'Touch' with Hybrid Minds in 2017, released at the time under her former alias. Solo, Catching Cairo released the EP Aura in 2023, then Bruz in 2025, two projects that extend this blend of soul singing, rave energy, reggae inflections, and British electronic production. On stage, Catching Cairo alternates club formats, vocal live performances, and appearances alongside artists from bass music as well as pop, in an approach that directly links emotion, rhythm, and London heritage.
