AC Slater

Under the name AC Slater, Aaron Clevenger has developed a career since the early 2000s as an American DJ and producer rooted in club electronic music. Initially associated with the electro and bass wave of the mid-2000s, AC Slater gradually refocused his work toward an aesthetic combining house, bass music and UK garage influences, producing tracks made for the dancefloor characterized by thick basslines, dry rhythms and a direct approach to groove. Over the years he has established himself on North American and European club scenes, both through his DJ sets and through a steady output released on various electronic labels. In 2014 he founded Night Bass, a platform that has become a touchstone for a bass-house-oriented sound and British hybridizations, and that has accompanied the evolution of his artistic identity. AC Slater's trajectory thus reflects the shift from an electro culture strongly marked by the 2000s to a more current reading of club music, where house, breaks, garage and basslines intersect without adhering to a single school.
