BLOK3

Born in Gebze, in the province of Kocaeli in Turkey, Hakan Aydın, performing under the name BLOK3, develops a repertoire situated between Turkish rap, melodic hip-hop, indie pop, and arabesque inflections. Active since 2021, BLOK3 first releases tracks such as Wow, Okey Okey, and Yallah, before gaining visibility with Vur in 2022 and then Affetmem in 2023, a track that marks an acceleration in his career. His writing relies on direct choruses, a flexible diction, and a way of alternating rapped sections, sung lines, and sentimental motifs, in an accessible urban aesthetic that draws as much on rap codes as on a local pop sensibility. In 2023 and 2024, BLOK3 releases several singles, including Baybay, Yaptırıcaz Tırnaklarını, Aklına Ben Gelicem, and Habibi, the latter in collaboration with British rapper Stefflon Don. His first studio album, Obsesif, is released in 2024. BLOK3 mainly operates on the recent Turkish pop-rap scene, where his music moves between club tracks, more melancholic tunes, and short formats designed for broad dissemination, while maintaining a clear rooting in the language and references of the urban Turkish youth.
