Ezhel
Born in Ankara in 1990, Sercan İpekçioğlu, known as Ezhel, first emerged on the local hip‑hop and reggae scene before moving toward a blend of rap, trap and dancehall influences. Rooted in Turkish urban culture, he developed a style that combines melodic singing, rapid rap phrasing and dark atmospheres, often touched by Anatolian music and elements of arabesk. After releasing several tracks online in the early 2010s, he established himself with the album Müptezhel (2017), which secured his place in contemporary Turkish rap. Based between Turkey and Berlin, he deepened collaborations with the German scene — notably Ufo361, with whom he released the joint album Lights Out (2019) and the project LOLO (2023). The record Made in Turkey (2020) extended his experiments between trap, melodic rap and pop‑leaning choruses. Prominent in singles and features, Ezhel has partnered with Turkish and German‑Turkish rappers such as Murda and Summer Cem, performing in clubs and festivals across Turkey and Europe. His trajectory unfolds between Ankara, Berlin and an active digital sphere, where his successive releases map a repertoire focused on urban daily life, intimate relationships and social contradictions.
