Loe Shimmy
Loe Shimmy, the stage name of Shamar Williams Cox, is from Pompano Beach, Florida, and since 2020 has been developing a Southern U.S. style of rap that is simultaneously melodic, laid-back and gritty, driven by a nasal, supple and slightly wavering voice. Initially active online, Loe Shimmy released the projects Zombie Land and World War Z in 2020, followed by Zuper PowerZ in 2021 and Z End in 2022, establishing a world where local trap meets sing-song vocal lines and a more introspective rather than ostentatious lyrical approach. His trajectory was marked by a two-year hiatus after his brother’s death, an event that later reappears in his music. In 2023 Loe Shimmy appeared on Kodak Black’s Pistolz & Pearlz before returning to the forefront in 2024 with Zombieland 2, the expanded Zombieland 2.6, as well as The Z Files and Nardy World, dedicated to his late brother. That same year he also toured alongside Sexyy Red, Rob49 and Skilla Baby. In 2025 he opened for Lil Baby, performed at Rolling Loud California and released Rockstar Junkie, which includes “3am” featuring Don Toliver.
