A Skylit Drive
Formed in Lodi, California in the mid-2000s by musicians from the same local scene, A Skylit Drive is part of the American post-hardcore scene, blending emo, screamo and metalcore, driven by melodic guitars, keyboards and a shift between clean singing and screamed passages. A Skylit Drive first drew attention with the EP She Watched the Sky in 2007, then fronted by Jordan Blake, before Michael Jagmin joined, bringing a change in vocal balance on Wires and the Concept of Breathing in 2008. The band followed with Adelphia in 2009, Identity on Fire in 2011, Rise in 2013 and ASD in 2015, while touring North American post-hardcore and metalcore circuits, including the Warped Tour and alongside acts such as Dance Gavin Dance, Alesana and Underoath. After several lineup changes and a hiatus in 2017, A Skylit Drive resumed activity from 2022 around Michael Jagmin with a new lineup. The band's recent history is also marked by a parallel reformation of former members around the early repertoire, and by the death of Jordan Blake in 2023.
