Maddie Zahm
Raised in Idaho, USA, Maddie Zahm crafts introspective pop driven by autobiographical songwriting, blending piano ballads, contemporary pop and an indie sensibility. She first gained attention during an American Idol audition, where she performed Dua Lipa’s "New Rules," before releasing her 11-track debut album People Pleaser in 2020. After a period away prompted by her label rejecting a project, Zahm returned with more personal material focused on body image, religious trauma and sexuality. This evolution is embodied on the EP You Might Not Like Her (2022), which includes tracks such as "Fat Funny Friend," "If It’s Not God" and the title song. Her style rests on a highly exposed voice and spare arrangements, in an emotionally direct pop format. Her career has taken her to stages across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, with dates in London, New York, Seattle, Nashville and Toronto, moving between independent pop circuits and an online-built visibility.
