Chri$tian Gate$

From Orange County, California, Chri$tian Gate$ is developing a solo project whose aesthetic has evolved in stages, moving from poetic writing toward a song format that blends rap, pop, R&B, rock and, more recently, folk accents. This movement across registers is reflected in a voice often placed up front and in tracks built around direct melodies, pop rhythms and lyrics nourished by a restless youth. Chri$tian Gate$ initially took part in recording his music himself before working more closely with other collaborators, while retaining a very personal approach to his songs. His stage career has taken him to several U.S. venues and festivals, with appearances at the Roxy in Los Angeles, the Mercury Lounge in New York, Sub T in Chicago and Lollapalooza. In his tracks, Chri$tian Gate$ combines confession, melodic choruses and rock energy, with an increasing emphasis on folk textures.
