3 Inches Of Blood

Formed in Victoria, British Columbia, 3 Inches Of Blood developed from the late-1990s Canadian metal scene with an approach rooted in traditional heavy metal and power metal, nourished by the legacy of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. The band first drew attention with the EP Sect of the White Worm in 2001, then Battlecry Under a Wintersun in 2002, before gaining broader visibility with Advance and Vanquish in 2004, whose title 'Deadly Sinners' remained one of its most identified tracks. The band’s hallmark for a long time was the alternation between Cam Pipes's high singing and rougher vocals, on fast, highly melodic compositions carried by twin guitars, martial refrains and imagery shaped by fantasy and classic metal culture. After several lineup changes, the band continued its trajectory with Fire Up the Blades in 2007, Here Waits Thy Doom in 2009 and Long Live Heavy Metal in 2012, touring with groups from both extreme metal and more traditional heavy metal and appearing at festivals like Ozzfest or Mayhem Festival. After splitting in 2015, 3 Inches Of Blood reformed in 2023 with Cam Pipes, Justin Hagberg, Shane Clark, Nick Cates and Ash Pearson, relaunching on stage a repertoire that remained attached to a direct, energetic aesthetic and faithful to the codes of heavy metal.
