Madison McFerrin

Born in the United States in 1991, Madison McFerrin has built a career blending soul, jazz, R&B, and alternative pop, with a vocal approach long shaped by a cappella and layered harmonies. From a family of musicians and the daughter of Bobby McFerrin, she studied at the Berklee College of Music before unveiling her personal project in the mid-2010s. She first drew attention with the EPs Finding Foundations: Vol. I (2016) and Finding Foundations: Vol. II (2018), where she crafted a universe centered on voice, groove, and stripped-down arrangements. This initial period gave way to a songwriting style more open to discreet electronic textures, keyboards, and a more expansive neo-soul production, while keeping a strong link to jazz and improvisation. After the EP You + I (2019), she released her first album, I Hope You Can Forgive Me, in 2023. On stage, she moves between jazz festivals, independent venues, and contemporary soul lineups in Europe and the United States, with a format that emphasizes the flexibility of her singing, rhythmic work, and intimate writing, at the crossroads of songwriting, vocal jazz, and modern R&B.
