Jonna Fraser

Born and raised in Zaandam in the Netherlands, Jonna Fraser emerged from the mid-2010s on the Dutch hip‑hop scene by blending melodic rap, R&B and Afro and dancehall influences. Discovered as part of the New Wave collective, which brought together a new generation of Dutch urban artists, Jonna Fraser went on to release numerous singles and solo projects while remaining highly present on tracks by peers such as Ronnie Flex, Broederliefde and Sevn Alias. His writing alternates sung choruses and more rapped verses, giving significant weight to stories of relationships, everyday life and upward mobility, in an accessible, club‑oriented register. Positioned at the crossroads of rap, urban pop and Afro‑Caribbean sounds, Jonna Fraser works both in the studio and as a featured artist, regularly taking him to club and festival stages in the Netherlands and francophone Europe. Over the years he has consolidated a musical identity centered on melody and the single format, while staying rooted in the collaborative dynamic of the Dutch urban scene.
